Parents tend to cringe when it comes to recorder unit in music class, especially those with more than one little musician in the house. However, I am very pleased with these Yamaha recorders and my fourth graders absolutely loved choosing the color they wanted. They produce a nice stable pitch with a clean tone, perfect for a homogeneous ensemble sound. These instruments are also incredibly easy to clean; throw the three sections in the dishwasher and you're sanitized in no time! This is a great product!

I really am pleased with the quality of this recorder. It is a very stable instrument and the sound quality is nice. My only complaint is that it does not come with a cleaning rod! I had to by them separately and that added to the cost. That was disappointing.
